I had some ideas for pieces that had me considering an album concept called "Visitors".
That cover was on display here for a while.
I have replaced that with a new concept "Aqua", the Latin for water. I have several
pieces nearly finished that will go much better with a water theme. Look for samples
very soon, maybe today!

I have made some updates to the site.
Also I doctored my photo so you don't have to look at my uncensored ugly mug.
At this point, I am thinking of ditching the "Visitors" album concept.
I won't throw away any music in progress, but the title, theme, and artwork for the
album will change. I'm toying with the idea of "Jungle Music" with illustrations
of jungle animals holding jazz instruments. This will be more in keeping with an
overall "all creatures and all people"
theme that I am trying to create for this site and for my music in general.

Whoa! Five months have passed since I posted anything on this site.
I was working on music. I just didn't have anything new in a finished state.
The Carnival album is visible in its entirety.
I have put up the cover for the
newest album "Visitors". There is no finished music for it though. I have
about eight to ten tunes in various unfinished states intended for it. Maybe about five of
those will make the final quality cut, leaving me with still with
five more to create.
Clips for the first Visitors tunes should start appearing
in the Spring. As suggested by the cover art, I am working on something very ~spooky~
to give you nightmares for the title cut!!

I was listening to my own clips on this website today for quality control.
Listening through PC speakers was very disappointintg indeed. The PC speakers
not only muffle the sound, they make the compositions sound "awful", to use a polite word.
Please listen
to the clips using quality headphones. Even a mid quality headphone
would sound much better than your PC speakers.
Just look for the light green headphones port on your computer. Most PCs have them
on both the front and the back. Some have them just in back.
If you don't have
quality headphones, may I suggest "Sony MDR-V6 Dynamic Stereo Headphones for Digital".
This is what sound studio technicians and many DJ's wear.
These headphones are still available. Search for them on the web by the exact name and model number.
There are other Sony model numbers that are close. Don't get those. Get the exact model number
that I have listed. I own two pairs of them. They are superb
headphones, and they only cost about $70.00. They sound better than headphones
costing hundreds of dollars more and they are easily powered by an iPod Nano.
If you are a music fan, you should have these anyways. They sound better than
than my living room tower speakers which cost $1500.00 for the pair.

All the samples that I intend to post for Polyphonic Journey are now up on the
Polyphonic page. Go have a listen.
I can now devote some time to getting this site listed, and then its back to work
on Carnival. All the songs are started. I seem to have run out of inspiration to
finish them off, however. Maybe when the hot weather breaks, more ideas will come to me.
This hot weather makes me want to pray that Congress retains its current party in the majority.
They have a climate change bill ready to go. If the clinically insane tea partiers
take power, there's no chance of hearing anything more about the climate. The last resistance
to a full corporate takeover of the USA will be gone. BP, Exxon, Google, Verizon, Walmart, and AIG will
be in charge of our country.

As promised, the tunes from Polyphonic Journey are now available for
sale as downloadable MP3s! I will get the remainder of the preview samples up in a couple of days.
Your purchase will be as secure as my third party providers, e-junkie.com and PayPal, can make them.
Download of the MP3 file is handled by e-junkie, who specializes in file downloads of this type.
Payment is handled by PayPal. I never get to see your credit card information, nor does it pass through my website. I can only see
the names and addresses of people who have purchased when I logon to my merchant paypal account.
Programming this stuff myself would be a security nightmare, so I have left security to the experts.
I render my tunes with the highest MP3 signal density possible, so the files are quite large, mostly 7 to 10 megabytes per song.
My whole premise here is cutting edge music with quality sound, so it has to be that way.
If you're not satisfied with your download, let me know here: contact.
If you notice any electronic artifacts in the downloads, let me know that too. I don't know of any at this time, but I can possibly
re-engineer and re-render the tune for you and send out a replacement MP3.
Purchasing of the physical CD disks is not available yet. I hope to make that happen before August is over. Send me a note here:
contact if you need to have a disc.

With more time on my hands than I planned for, I am getting the first samples up already.
All the Polyphonic journey samples could be up in a week's time.
I will be creating a feedback page. Let me know what you think of the music and the site.
Be honest, or your comments won't do me any good.

As you can see, I am just starting to get this website together. I expect to be near completion by the end of July 2010.
The holdsups are in getting the material copyright registrations and also in creating the sample clips of my music.
I won't
be able to post entire songs, because that would encourage theft and discourage buying. The sample clips may also be watermarked,
meaning that there will be a voice embedded in the tunes saying "Kavamusic" every 8 seconds or so. This makes the clips
useless for anything but demonstration purposes.
The biggest challenge will be to setup secure credit card transactions and secure downloads of MP3 files. I will offload
the bulk of the programming probably to Paypal, but even so, its hard to setup. This will cause the biggest delay. I WILL, however, be
able to start posting sample clips for listening long before the purchase mechanism is setup on the site.
Check back in about two weeks for the first few tunes. FYI - the clip on the home page is a short segement of "Going Home"
from "Polyphonic Journey".
